Hey, I'm Anton Fagerberg. I started companies at 15, but when I discovered software in 2014, I fell in love with what technology can do at scale.
Enterprise software is undergoing its biggest shift in fifty years. AI can now run the workflows that ERPs have only ever recorded - purchasing, reconciliation, pricing, store operations.
I bet my career on a different answer, that the right technology could make most of the enterprise stack disappear, because the complexity was never intrinsic to business - it was a fifty-year compensation pile. The relational database was invented in the 1970s for recording structured facts; it was never designed for AI to operate on directly. So every vendor today is bolting AI onto a substrate that fragments meaning across hundreds of tables, and hitting the same ceiling.
That's why I'm CEO of Starcounter, an enterprise software platform, and of Heads, the AI-first commerce platform proving the architecture across some of Scandinavia's most demanding retailers - Gekås Ullared, Dollarstore, Telenor. Before that I founded and led iControl and Buildcraft and did a stint in Silicon Valley. I write here about what I'm learning building it.
I'm based in Stockholm with my wife and son. When I'm not working, I powerlift, cook, read and on occasion, do some gaming.
Anton Fagerberg is CEO of Starcounter and Heads, the Stockholm-based enterprise platform and AI-first commerce platform rebuilding enterprise software to fit the AI era. Heads runs on it in production across 27 enterprise retail customers and 100+ stores at anchors including Gekås Ullared, Dollarstore and Telenor.
Anton became CEO of Heads in 2019 and Starcounter in 2020 after founding and leading iControl and Buildcraft. He has built both companies to enterprise scale without growth capital - comparable AI-ERP entrants raised $35M-$90M to reach similar revenue stages.
